This Makes life after Barrons bearable. Almost.

Angelfall  - Susan Ee

I can't believe that this has been out since 2011 and I'm barely getting to it now! Thank you Jennifer and Ash for the push ,it was awesome!!

I mean what's not to like there's sword fighting,hot-god like angels, a creepy post apocalyptic era, and a bad ass heroine! I love books with a strong female lead that can kick some ass and Penryn Young fits the bill.
She's only 17 in the book but the back story with her family matures her for me so the possible love connection with Raffe, doesn't really bug me. And I mean it's also the end of the world so a bit of leniency is acceptable I think. She definitely still has her teenage girl moments that remind you of her age though so I was grateful that were crawling before walking in the romance department for them and that for the most part Penryn is focused on her family and the disturbing cray stuff that's going on there. I can't even go into detail of what's happening with her family because you need to experience the crazy as you read!
The only thing that I had a little problem with was that when all the talk about archangels like Gabriel and Raphael come up we don't get much of an elaboration on them. It's just assumed that we know who they are and I'm catholic (light) and had no clue who they are. Still nothing that my good old handy Google couldn't remedy. All in all a great new addicting series to read! Yay!

This Man Confessed (This Man, #3) - Jodi Ellen Malpas

My luck has been very unfortunate lately regarding book sequels and/or conclusions.
I think the problem is the waiting time between said books, the time span between each book in a decent series is usually 6 mos.-to a [gasp!] year. And most of the time this is fine. It's understandable ,authors have lives too .
description
Ugh. I know right? Humans.
Anyway ,the problem with these big time lapses between books is...my mind. It runs rampant with all the cool and dramatic possibilities that might happen in the next installment/conclusion. And then when I get the book I’ve been speculating and fantasizing about I'm sorely disappointed, because of course my version was better. But not this time. Jodi Ellen Malpas delivers .

description
I can honestly say that the conclusion to this series was perfect.
Jodi doesn’t change Jesse. He's still crazy and arrogant and inventive in the bedroom. (sigh) And Ava remains defiant and has a brain of her own and is keeping Jesse on his toes. We get to see their relationship evolve and see them unite in their marriage and it was great!! And that prologue was the luscious cherry on top! So, thank you Jodi! You did it wright.
I'm gonna miss you Jesse, :(
Axel (Corps Security, #1) - Harper Sloan Great alpha story my Liz!! Axel was great but If I'm honest I needed a little more story. I loved all the characters and i can't wait for Dee and Beck's story! I am hoping the next ones we get a little bit more camaraderie and interaction with the characters and really make it feel like the "family" Axel and Izzy claimed they were! All in all it was a fun read and I will read the next Marine alpha story!! (For blatantly obvious reasons.) :)
Breathless - Brigid Kemmerer description
^ My face when I found out Nick's secret. Can't wait to find out more in the next installment!!!

Thank you . But, no thank you.

2.5 Stars
I wasn't feeling this insta-love for some reason. I liked the characters individually in the beginning but when they got together it just never took off for me. Won't be continuing the series.

No longer a trilogy but a series! Seriously?

Entwined with You - Sylvia Day

I feel like I've been waiting for this book forever!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
smh' I love me some Gideon and Eva but this one was completely unnecessary. It feels like Ms. Day was trying to stretch out a story that we all now should've already ended!! Enough is enough, give me my HEA already!!
Bully (Fall Away, #1) - Penelope Douglas I got duped into a series...AGAIN!! this is what happens when I get a book off of amazon without checking my GR!! Damn that ending! sigh" now i have to wait. ;/ Great easy book though, devoured this one while camping.
Epilogue: The Dark Duet (The Dark Duet, #2.5) - C.J. Roberts Worth reading, if not just because of that nifty 69 scene Caleb...I'm going to miss you!
Storm - Brigid Kemmerer It was Amazeballs!! More soon!
Jet (Marked Men, #2) - Jay Crownover This felt ...underdeveloped. I feel like I never established a connection with Ayden and Jet. Their relationship literally goes from 0-100 and while I understand that it was probably due to their "arrangement" , I needed to see them interact more with each other instead of just being in their heads all the time. While I'm happy they got their Happy ending this one falls into the "meh" category for me. I hope Rome's book is more like Rule's since he's an archer and all.
Allure - Nina Lane review to come after dinner! lol :P
Arouse (Spiral of Bliss, #1) - Nina Lane
What attracted me to this particular novel was the lack of grandiose plot. The fact that we follow a couple who have very much attained their "happy ending" and now are navigating the relationship struggles of the ever after. In this particular case their struggles come in the shape of Olivia/Liv's finding her footing/individuality in her marriage while she is an adamant supporter of her Professor husband and all his endeavors. She struggles in finding her niche and Dean (her husband) like all men it seems, does not know how to communicate. And omits some huge things from his wife. The heady combination of each character's struggles leads to liv kissing another man because she connects with him on a level she hasn’t yet connected with dean.
I really liked Liv and Dean's relationship. Despite their flaws I thought they were beautiful together and I just goes to show how fragile love can be .
”Maggie Hamilton is no threat to our marriage. Neither is Tyler Wilkes. The danger lies solely between me and my husband”
I thought the writing was beautiful and elegant and organic to challenges of married life and successful in its plot execution. I felt the marital tension while reading this and that was exactly what I was looking for.
What I didn't like : Dean's overuse of the word prick.
e.g#1 “Just bat your eyelashes at me, and i'll take my prick out “
e.g#2 ” Naked and Moaning and creaming all over my prick”
umm No, Dean.No.
And Kelsey's way of trying to manipulate dean into her way of thinking. Otherwise known as thekiss. Thank you but no thank you,lady! Wth. What kind of friend are you!
Tangled - Emma Chase
...What to say about Tangled...hmm, well the name of the book could have been better. Like as in totally different. I’m a mom and all I could think about was that poor little kidnapped girl ,who kept tripping over her long hair whenever this popped up in my gr.
So ,shocker of all shockers when I open this little gem and a hilarious douche-y man starts dispensing his sordid (but strangely knowledgeable) views on women,romance and relationships. Surprise number two? I could have used some of his pointers when I was single but unfortunately I'm not... though its amazing sometimes, I think its hypothetical that I am married to such an astounding man... my mexican leonardo di caprio what else could I ask for. Im his tangled girl because he kidnapped my heart.... <-----<br/>description
That was not me. It was my hypothetical Mexican Leonardo DiCaprio, apparently.He said he wanted to use big words too. Smh, can't even walk away to pet the dog. I left this in as a caution to your single girls out there. Men get into everything. Remember that.
Anyway, back to the sordid but wise advice. I wanted to share one of his golden nuggets.
"First of all, if a chick wants me to respect her, she needs to act like someone worth respecting. Second, I’m not trying to be a dick: I'm just being a guy. And all guys talk to their friends about sex. Let me repeat that in case you missed it: ALL GUYS TALK TO THEIR FRIENDS ABOUT SEX. If a guy tells you he doesn't? Dump him ,because he's lying to you."
... see what i mean ?
"My mother looks at me with glittering hopeful eyes. The way Paula Deen looks at a tub of lard, imagining the delicacy just waiting to be made."
Okay that one was not really a nugget so much as just gold. Pure comedic gold.
It's important that you see that little snippet of gold though because it is on almost every single page. And not everyone can take all this awesomeness at once. So, after you look past the title and before you embark on this easy little read you should consider that.
Can you handle the awesomeness of one liner after one liner being thrown at you? If you think you can't, walk away. If you think you can and are excited by that, I'd like to get to know you better. Send me a message, let's chat.
Elemental (Elemental, #0.5) - Brigid Kemmerer I was very lost with this one. I had no clue who was what. so this definitely could never be a stand alone But I'm intrigued to know what ,exactly , is an elemental and what the beef between them is so I most definitely will be checking out storm.
Until Fountain Bridge (On Dublin Street, #1.6) - Samantha Young Loved reading Adam and Ellie's story in this little novella. Even though I already knew the story and the ending.I was still a little frustrated. All the "will they/won't they?" thing happening between them got to me and made me skim a few of the flashbacks so i could get to the good parts. All in all though, short and good read . Totally worth it!
